This station is located in a primary industrial area on the bank of the Fraser River. On flat terrain with no vegetation and nearby industrial equipment, the station sees above the area average temperatures. The location can be wind swept. Given its North Surrey location the station elevation is only slightly above sea level, an elevation well below most of the City of Surrey. This can have the effect of moderating winter conditions when compared to most of the City, however the station sits outside the local influence of the Salish Sea.
